This is a book dust jacket I created for my Typography final. I was inspired to create a coffee table book about the history of ballet because I have been dancing since I was young and wanted an excuse to look at beautiful things during finals week. I decided to primarily stick to a greyscale color palette with pops of pink because traditionally ballet dancers wear black and pink to rehearse. I think the blue tones from the back image tie in nicely, though, because of the publisher's logo. I think the overall look is very clean and elegant, which reflects the art of ballet. This is one of my favorite pieces I have created. All of the images are from the internet aside from the close up image in the front flap, which is my own. The two fonts I used were Myrid Pro (sans serif) and Beauty (script). The copy was also collected and modified from various sources.
